DNA Testing and Ethnic Identity

In what ways does the outcome of DNA testing affirm or contradict prior knowledge of my ancestral history in terms of race and ethnicity?

Orientation in Space and Time

My product was 5 landscape paintings from countries my family originates from. They depict, Mexico, Guatemala, Jamaica, Spain, and lastly New Mexico, United States. I explored the journeys and experiences of members of my family to document key details in mini interviews on the back of the artwork. I also investigated how DNA tests are done, credibility, variety within different races to fully understand ethnic identity.
