Construction Noise and Timeline

ERHS was selected for seismic retrofit upgrades for our 90-year-old campus. The North Gym should be done in June 2018, with the South Gym starting soon thereafter for heating/ ventilation/air conditioning (HVAC). The South Gym project should be done by June 2019. The Auditorium should be done by June 2020. Jack-hammering and other noisy labor are monitored by LAUSD to not exceed permissible levels. On campus drilling has been limited to minimize impact on instructional time. The latest data from the closest home did not have the db level rise above 75db, which is within the LA City/County Noise Ordinance limits.

ERHS in the News!

ERHS’ 90th bday was celebrated by LA City Council (see attached article in e-mail) and LAUSD Facebook (@LosAngelesSchools. Also, our Early Warning Earthquake System was featured by Channel 2 & 9: http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2017/09/13/eagle-rock-high-earthquake-early-warning/ Please take some time this weekend to speak with your student about earthquake safety at school and home. Preparedness is essential prior to an actual emergency.

As always, continue visiting our website at erhs.la, Facebook, and Twitter for more information about ERHS.
