Prom Free Dress Event

Donations needed for Eagle Rock High School Free Prom Dress Event

If you have a prom dress that you no longer need, don't let it hang in the back of your closet and gather dust for another day. Instead, donate it!  Eagle Rock High School will be collecting new and gently used prom dresses and gowns for students.   Mrs. De Leon, our lovely nurse will be accepting dresses in the Nurse’s Office from Friday, March 29th to May 18th.

Go through your closet, and identify any formal dresses that you no longer need. As long as they are not tattered, dirty, or torn, we will gleefully accept them.

Students on Strike!

by Eleanor Dalton

The LAUSD teacher’s strike began on a rainy Monday, leaving nearly 600,000 students with the daunting question of what in the world to do. This being the first teacher strike in 30 years, no one was used to sudden and unexpected time off. Parents of elementary school students found themselves in a scramble to find childcare, but many high school students were faced with a different experience. The week and how they spent it was, for the first time for many, in the students’ hands.
