Individuals & Societies

No race can prosper till it learns that there is as much dignity in tilling a field as in writing a poem. It is at the bottom of life we must begin, and not at the top. Nor should we permit our grievances to overshadow our opportunities. The opportunity to earn a dollar in a factory just now is worth infinitely more than the opportunity to spend a dollar in an opera-house.
-Booker T. Washington "Up from Slavery"

"I hated every minute of training, but I told myself 'Don't quit! Suffer now, and live the rest of your life as a champion'" - Muhammed Ali

Educational Philosophy:

Teaching is the profession that makes all others possible..The world is our school, life is one big lesson, and we are merely the students. I consider myself a student for life. Like a tree...we never stop growing in wisdom and knowledge.

What I value most about ERHS:

The sense of community. Everyone, especially the students, are always willing to lend a helping hand. I consider myself blessed to be teaching here.

About Me:

I am the first in my family to graduate college, and learned a lot from my fellow college classmates who were struggling as single parents, being undocumented, or formerly incarcerated, about hard work, dedication, perseverance, and never taking for granted the many opportunities that were offered to me. Because of their example of discipline and passion for their dreams, I was inspired to do the same and not take what I have for granted. We all have something to contribute to society. We all have a calling through our unique talents, interests, strengths, and skills, and I'm grateful for the people who have crossed my path to help me realize that education is truly where my heart is.
