How does gender impact the lives of modern day teenage girls?

Orientation in Space and Time

My personal project is about the modern day lives of teenage girls. Many older generations seem to be disconnected from modern youth. In recent years, technology has become much more advanced. Generation Z, those born from 1995 to 2015, is the first generation to be fully immersed in a world full of technology. As very few parents have experience raising children in our new technology-filled world, I felt as though it was my duty to explain the way the lives of teenage girls are today. Social media sometimes portrays teenagers today to be spoiled and aloof. Through my project, I explored beneath the surface of these stereotypes. Many people believe that equality between men and women has already been reached. I, on the other hand, having first-handedly experiencing these inequalities, know that this is untrue. Many people also believe that Gen Z is too immature to understand the issue of gender inequality. I wanted to use the personal project to prove that gender issues still exist and need to be acknowledged. I also wanted to find evidence that teenage girls still feel affected by gender inequality.
