Greetings Eagle Rock families! This is Principal Steinorth your school update for the week of August 28th Thank you to everyone who came to our Back-To-School Night Wednesday evening! The event was very well attended and received high marks from both the parents and staff who participated. Over the long weekend, please remember that COVID-19 is still a concern for public health. We have seen a few cases on campus and I want to remind families that everyone should be considered as having been exposed. Please see the letter attached to the email version of this message for more information. Parents are asked to monitor their students for symptoms and use home tests as needed. Students testing positive are asked to upload a picture of their test results into the LAUSD Daily Pass system along with their name, student ID number, date of birth and the date and time of the test result. Positive cases should self-isolate at home and retest after 5 days. If the retest is negative, students can return to school but are asked to wear a mask while at school for an additional 5 days. When school resumes next week, students will also be taking the new iReady assessment in their Language and Literature classes. All students are invited to participate in Club Day on Wednesday next week. This is everyone’s chance to find out what clubs are meeting on campus and find one that they are interested in joining. Congratulations to our Girls Flag Football team who scored a resounding 44-0 victory on the road against Bell High School last evening. Boys’ Football will visit Bell tonight. The Junior Varsity game began at 4:00 p.m. with Varsity starting at 7:00 p.m. Girls’ Volleyball team will host Narbonne High School on Tuesday, September 5th and Verdugo Hills on Friday, September 8th. Finally, the school will be closed tomorrow, Friday, September 1st and on Monday, September 4th in recognition of the California Admissions Day and Labor Day holidays. School will resume on Tuesday, September 5th with a Gray Day PD Tuesday schedule. Have a restful long weekend everyone!
