Updates May 15th

Greetings Eagle Rock families! This is Principal Steinorth your school update for the week of May 15th.

Congratulations to Ms. Kissam and the Eagle Rock Theater Company for their amazing performances of Chicago last weekend! The entire cast impressed with their fantastic singing and dancing on stage. Thank you to all the Seniors who were a part of the cast for all of the great performances that they have been a part of during their years at the Rock!

Next week we will wrap up the Spring performances with the Choir Concert on Wednesday, May 24th beginning at 6:00 p.m. and the Band Concert on Thursday, May 25th at the same time. Both performances will be in the school auditorium.

The Aloha Dance, which is the final school dance of the year will be on Friday, May 26th from 6:00-10:00 p.m. Tickets are now $15 on sale at lunch and $25 at the door.

The Totem Yearbook arrived and has been distributed to those who pre-purchased their yearbook. This year’s addition is beautifully constructed and is nearly 400 pages. If you have not picked up your yearbook, please make sure to bring your photo ID to the Student Store and pick yours up before or after school. If you would like to purchase a yearbook before they sell out, they are available in the student store for $125 and can be purchased with cash or a check made out to ERHS with your student's name and birthdate on the memo line.

In athletics, Boys’ Baseball lost a close playoff game on Tuesday at West Adams High School to end their playoff run. Congratulations to the team and Coach De Leon for an amazing season! The Eagle Rock track and field team was well represented at the CIF City Finals on Thursday evening with several Eagles running personal bests and setting school records. Congratulations to Juniors Catalina and Alexis who ran times in the 800 and 400 that placed 1st and 2nd in Eagle Rock history. Fellow Junior Tory placed 10th in school history with her performance in the 3200 while Senior Leah Long Jump ranked 6th in school history. Congratulations to Junior Owen who placed 2nd in the City and qualified to represent Eagle Rock at the CIF State meet next week. Go Eagles!

Finally, Friday, May 26th is a Minimum Day at the school with students being dismissed at 1:08 p.m. Have a safe and restful weekend everyone!
