Happy Championship Friday Eagle Rock families! This is Principal Steinorth your school update for the week of February 20th. For those of you who may have missed it, last night our Boys’ Basketball team brought home the Division 2 CIF-City Championship defeating South Gate High School by a score of 53 to 49. Congratulations to the whole team, coaching staff and Head Coach Dunbar, who notched his third city championship at Eagle Rock! The team also qualified for a state playoff game which will be scheduled over the weekend! Congratulations Eagles! Eagle Rock Boys’ Soccer will attempt to bring home their own City Championship tomorrow at LA Valley College at 1:20 p.m. in all Northern League Final against Wilson High School. Brave the rain and come cheer our Eagles to victory! Tickets are only available through the GoFan App $10 General Admission, $8 for Students or Seniors. Go Eagles! Our Spring season athletic teams have all begun their seasons as well. Check the athletics schedule on our school website for the dates and times of games. Senior families, there is now less than a week remaining to submit the Federal Financial Aid Application also known as FAFSA. FAFSA must be submitted by March 2, 2023 for the 2023-2024 academic year. Our College Office is holding workshops on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. until Noon. Make sure your family completes this very important application. Parents, we need your help. Please help us communicate to your students that beginning on Monday, February 27th the school will no longer allow students to accept food deliveries from services such as Postmates or Uber Eats. Any such delivery to the school will be turned away. As a reminder, every student can eat breakfast and lunch free of charge daily for the duration of this school year. Finally, if you’d like to learn more about our International Baccalaureate Middle Years’ Programme (IBMYP) or have friends that would like to consider Eagle Rock as a school of choice for their children, consider attending an informational event on March 15th.
