December 10th Updates

Hello, Eagles! This is Mrs.Keipp with four messages: Finals, Personal Project, Communication, & Hanukkah. There will be an additional message if you are a 2021 senior family and/or an Eagles faculty/staff member.

Mental Health/Wellness: On this Thoughtful Thursday, please remind our students they are not alone, there is help.  In the email are two attachments for resources & support. During this week’s Principals Meeting, we watched a video about our “Why” (https://youtu.be/1ytFB8TrkTo). Enjoy this under 4-minute video about purpose. It reminded me to connect with students through phone call, letter, email, etc. Stay stronger together, Eagles!

  1. Personal Project-Thank you for our school wide effort to support our Class of 2023 sophomores. Phase 1 is about the students finding something they care about and caring about it so much that they want to share it with others. Thank you for thinking globally and acting locally.
  2. Communication-Updated phone numbers for Eagle Rock Rock Jr./Sr. HS will be available weekdays from 7:30am-4:30pm, to answer questions related to our school. Your call will be answered by an Eagle staff member. If it goes to voicemail, we will call (or text if it is a cellular phone) back with the information requested. Thank you to our campus aides and bus drivers who will staff the Google Voice numbers until December 18!

·      The Google Voice Phone number for Eagle Rock Rock Jr./Sr. HS' Main Office is  (213) 444-0656. Call to be connected with staff regarding general questions.

·      The Google Voice Phone number for ERJSHS’ Enrollment  is:  (323) 452-2608. Call to be connected with staff regarding enrollment and/or permit topics.

·      The Google Voice Phone number for ERJSHS’ Support of Special Education  is:  (626) 788-1836. Call to be connected with Ms. Francisca regarding IEP related topics.

4)    Happy Hanukkah! I read an article today about the “shamash” helper candle  (https://www.latimes.com/opinion/story/2020-12-10/hanukkah-menorah-lights-holiday). I paused to thank the helpers in my life, those who give me light, and jelly-filled moments of love. I invite you to do the same.

In closing, please continue to be safe and follow “Safer at Home orders.” If you or your family become sick due to COVID19 and test positive, please contact your student’s counselor, teacher, and/or administrator as soon as possible. We provide supports from our Eagle community and remind you that we are stronger together.

Love,

Mrs. Keipp,

Principal
