Announcements May 11th

Hello, Eagles,  This is Mrs. Keipp wishing you a happy Saturday.

Academics:

  1. Calendar updates:
    1. Eighth grade and senior fails are due this Friday, May 17. Eligibility requirements for culmination or graduation must be met in order to participate in end of year celebrations.
    2. Testing continues for State Requirements in ELA, Math, and Science. IB DP and AP testing also continue this week.
  2. Community Service: Students, remember to log your service as action on ManageBac.
  3. Personal Project: The tenth grades exhibition is taking place in the library and online here: http://erhs.la/ib-exhibition! Congratulations to coordinator Ms. Simonian, teachers, mentors, and class of 2021 for showing your IB Design Cycle knowledge and skills!
  4. Construction updates: Attached in the e-mail are the latest photos of the Seismic Retrofit work in the Auditorium and South Gym. Completion is expected summer 2020.

Arts:

  1. Congratulations to our 8th graders who coordinated “Music in the Garden” with teachers Mr. Mailes and Dr. Gindin last night.
  2. Today’s Concert in the Quad will be held at 5pm. In the event of rain, it will be in the North Gym. Come and hear our talented musicians, especially our seniors, conducted by Ms. Silverman. Tickets will be sold at the entrance.

Athletics:

  1. Continue to follow our incredible Spring sports teams as they surge forward in playoffs. Softball plays Monday at home at 3pm. Track and Field finalists compete at El Camino on Friday. Go Eagles!
  2. Join us on Tuesday, 3:30pm, on the softball field to celebrate Miranda’s signing to UC Merced for soccer!

Parent Meetings for grades 7-12:

  1. Monday: Boosters 6pm and ELAC 6pm
  2. Tuesday: IB Parents, 6pm
  3. Wednesday: ERMAC Magnet Parents,6pm

This week we celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week. We are thankful for the kindness of plentiful food, desserts, beverages, gifts, and more from our PTSA and Boosters at Tuesday’s luncheon. Najwa Zebian reminds us all, “Stay kind. It makes you beautiful.” We appreciate all of our volunteers, especially Christian Assembly, for coming to campus today. The next campus clean up day is May 25!

Last but not least, Happy Mother’s Day tomorrow to all mothers and motherly figures in our lives. Go Eagles and continue to rock the ROCK!
