Academic Decathlon (9th-12th) Mr.Laird Period 6 & after school Rm: S-6 Competitive team that focuses on 10 different academic areas based upon a common theme. '09-'10 is based upon the French Revolution. Field trips available.
AP Tutors(12th) Ms. Gonzalez After school Tutor Eagle Rock students; 12th grade only; 3.0 minimum GPA; must be in at least 1 AP or Honors course.  Must complete 45 hours. Tutors awarded with their Senior package/yearbook/grad-nite or prom ticket
Bookworms Book Club (7th-12th) Ms. Lynch Once a month on Fridays during lunch in the library We select a book to read and have discussions based on the book during our meetings.
C.S.F. (10th-12th) Mr. Malmed 2 Wednesdays a month during Lunch Rm. B25 CSF is a scholarship and community service oriented organization for academically minded students with a 3.5 Grade point average or above. Available only to grades 10-12
Computer Science Club(7th-12th) Mr. Jacobson Thursdays @ Lunch - Rm. S5 Computer graphics, robotics and theory for all you computer scientists
Debate Club (7th-12th) Ms. Sanchez Rm. 305 For the expression of controversial issues among students. Open to all students 7-12.

Journalism (7th-12th) Mr. Hurley Period 4 class Rm. 324 Writing and publishing monthly articles for the school newspaper. Also known as "The Eagle's Scream".

World of Education (11th-12th) Mr. Jovanelly Advisory & 2nd or 3rd Period class Rm. 203 Social studies elective course; students examine the role of education in society. Students serve as teacher's aids/tutors in at Eagle Rock Elementary during the semester. 11th-12 only.
Arts
Advanced Orchestra (9th-12th) Mr. Samuel Zero period class, Rm. M1 Open to all orchestral instrumentalists grades 9-12 with at least 2 years of instrumental experience
Anime Club (7th-12th) Ms. R. Lee Thursdays @ 3:15-4:15 Rm. M2 Students share knowledge, activities and experience in Asian anime, especially Japanese anime.
Choir (Zero Period) (9th-12th) Ms. R. Lee Zero Period, rm. M2 Open to 9-12 by audition only.
Harry Potter Club (7th-12th) Julie Wiant Fridays @ lunch Rm.220 A Discuss Potter news, play related games, eat wizarding world food, support Oxy Quid ditch.
Latin Jazz Band (7th-12th) Mr. Samuel and Carlos Kuhlmann Tuesdays @ 2-4 pm Rm. M1 Open to all instrumentalists/singers grades 7-12. This band explores salsa, Afro-Cuban and other styles of Latin music.
The Writer's Bloc (9th-12th) Ms.Clark Wednesdays @ lunch plus Thursdays afterschool for 2 hours Rm. B9 Creative writing club structured like a writing workshop; includes reading and writing exercises that hopefully evoke powerful ideas, imagery and characters in one's writing. Literary journal published at the end of the year with everyone's work in it.
Yearbook (9th-12th) Mrs. Youngblood-Jarman Period 5 class Rm. 218 Creating and publishing the annual yearbook,"The Totem". Interviews open to all the preceding year.
Career
MESA (9th-12th) Mr. Kenney, Mrs. Becerra Fridays @ lunch Rm. B11 MESA is a 40-year-old program that exposes students to careers in tech fields. Focuses on underrepresented groups. Field trips available.
Teen Fit For Success (TFS) (9th-12th) Ms. Gonzalez After school Work readiness program with emphasis on conflict management and emergency preparedness. 2.1 GPA required.  Community service hours and job shadowing.
Environmental
Recycling Club (9th-12th) Ms. Gallegos Tues & Thurs @ lunch Rm. 202 The recycling club is in-charge of school-wide recycling and recycling awareness. Field Trips Available.
Entertainment
Battle of The Bands (9th-12th) Mr. Kronish ERHS Auditorium 2/19/10 7-10 PM Students Bands will perform in the auditorium and a panel of judges will pick 1st and 2nd place winners.
Sierra Club (7th-12th) Ms. Adrian-Thiroux Meetings are held the week before a hike (Listen for announcements or read bulletin) Hikes in the mountains! Snow Days!! Camping Trips!!! Fun! Fun!! Fun!!! See Ms. Adrian-Thiroux in the second GEAR UP office. Field trips available.
Service
Amnesty International (9th-12th) Mr. McGuire Thursdays @ Lunch Rm. 200 Work legally and internationally to promote human rights, combat world hunger, poverty, and educate the ERHS community about these issues.
GEAR UP Mentoring (10th-12th) Ms. Ward-Roncalli Apply in GEAR UP Office #1 Promotes higher education for all students. We mentor 9th graders. We meet with our mentees once a month. Meetings are mandatory. Overnight UCLA field trip every summer. Open to grades 10-12 only.
Key Club (9th-12th) Ms. Bollman-Little Tuesdays @ Lunch Rm. B33 Kiwanis Educating Youth. An international organization that aims at serving the community around the world. KEY clubbers do volunteer work, meet new people, and learn new values. Volunteer hours count for college credit. Field trips available.
Circle of Knit Teens (7th-12th) Ms. R. Lee Wed. 3:15-5 pm, Rm. M2 Students knit for charity.
PAWS (7th-12th) Ms. Sanchez Tuesdays @ Lunch, Rm. 305 Animal Rights Club; awareness of endangered wildlife species; volunteer at shelters; fundraise for organizations. Open to all students.
Leadership
ASB Leadership (9th-12th) Mr. Oswald 4th Period class, every weekday & some Saturdays Support all school clubs, sports, & responsible for all school-based activities
J.C.O. (11th) Mr. Novoa Rm. B15 Leadership activities for the class of 2011. Fundraising and organizing class events such as Junior Dinner Dance and helping out with Senior Prom.
MS (Middle School) Leadership (7th-9th) Mr. Aguilar 4th Period class and after school when needed Support middle school clubs, sports, & responsible for middle school activities.
S.C.O. (12th) Mr.Beaty, Ms. Campbell Advisory & 4:30 Tues in the library (meetings as needed) Senior Class issues: homecoming, prom, activities in the quad, etc.

Cheer!!! (9th-12th) Ms. Ruiz 6th period class- @ 4:30pm Cheer for your school team and entertain the crowd during football and basketball games. By tryout only.
Tennis Club (7th-8th) Mr. Jacobson After school November -January Tennis courts Learn to play tennis. Lots of food and games, as well.
Students Run LA (7th-12th) Dr. Johnson Mon & Wed @ 3:20 pm, Sat @ 8:00 am Rm. S7B 6-month training program to complete the 26.2 mile LA Marathon.
Cross Country (9th-12th) Mr. Cea 6th period class thru after school Cross-Country is a sport that encourages those students who like to run and love to compete with other high school runners. Invitational are 3 times during the season.
